Masks for your CPAP, BiPAP, APAP, or ASV Machine in Cary-Raleigh

Serving the greater Raleigh area

Starting CPAP could be jarring for some. We get it. But it will improve your sleep and alleviate sleep apnea symptoms. One of the most challenging things is getting comfortable with the mask.

Getting used to wearing a CPAP mask to sleep can be a process. Sometimes it’s just about adjusting to it, and other times it could be that the mask isn’t to your liking. Luckily, there are a ton of masks to choose from at our North Carolina CPAP Store, and our staff are experts at helping patients find the right one.

The process generally starts with a Telehealth appointment which you can book online now. Or you are welcome to call us, visit our office, or visit our sleep center for help finding the perfect CPAP mask. We’re always here to help!

Full Face CPAP Mask

A CPAP full face mask is a great option for people that don’t find nasal face masks comfortable. It’s also a solution for people who breathe through their mouths. You may have found it uncomfortable if you’ve tried a nasal mask at high pressure. With more space available in a full face CPAP mask, that discomfort can be relieved.

These masks usually have more straps for a more secure fitting at night, helping to solve the worry of leaking air pressure. There are many options, and if you’ve been using the same CPAP full face mask, now is the best time to switch. The technology and designs have improved to make CPAP and BIPAP users comfortable

Say goodbye to discomfort, and visit our CPAP Store for full face CPAP Masks!

Nasal CPAP Mask

You could confuse a nasal CPAP mask with a nasal pillow CPAP mask because they’re both nose masks. But, a nasal CPAP mask is placed over the nose instead of inside it.

If you find the full face CPAP mask makes you feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable, a CPAP nose mask may be for you. They fit snugly on the nose, making it easier to move around in sleep. And, with fewer straps, it may feel like less of a hassle to put on.

Some CPAP nose masks have chin straps to discourage mouth breathing which will help you reap the benefits of PAP therapy. Interested in a nasal CPAP mask? Call us at 919-462-8081 or make an appointment.

Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask

CPAP nasal pillows are one of the most mobile masks available. They’re usually smaller than nasal CPAP masks and much smaller than a full face mask. You might be confused about where the “pillow” part comes in, as it’s not something you lay your head on. The CPAP nose pillow is the mask part that goes into your nose. The pillow can be made from a comfortable silicone or gel.

These masks sit under the nose, just above the lip, and have even fewer straps than a nasal CPAP mask. It maintains a consistent seal because it sits on the nose, but it’s not the best at handling high-pressure settings. Also, if you are a mouth breather, you should invest in a chin strap mask to help promote undisturbed PAP therapy.

If you need help finding a CPAP pillow mask, call us at 919-462-8081, make an appointment, or check out our masks on the CPAP Store!

Things To Consider When Choosing a CPAP Mask

Before you choose your CPAP mask, you should consider some things such as:

  • How often do I move in my sleep?
  • Do I have a lot of facial hair?
  • Do I sleep on my back, side, or stomach?

These questions will impact how comfortable you are with specific CPAP masks. We’d love to help you choose, but if you can’t come in for a consultation, look over our CPAP Store and the information below that may apply to you.

CPAP Mask for Side Sleepers

The best type of side sleeper mask is the nasal pillow CPAP mask. Side sleeping makes it easy for air to leak because of how deep a head leans into a pillow. This leakage will hamper your PAP therapy, which could lead to sleep apnea episodes. CPAP nose pillows sit right under the nose, making it easier to sleep on your side without breaking the air pressure seal.

CPAP Mask for Active Sleepers

We define an active sleeper as someone who moves around in their sleep. It can be hard to tell if you sleep alone, but if you think you toss and turn at night, you’re likely an active sleeper.

Active sleeping with the wrong CPAP mask can cause leakage. The best mask for an active sleeper would be a CPAP nose pillow mask or a low-profile CPAP full face mask, and we sell both types at our CPAP Store. A pillow mask has a lot of mobility and can stay snug against your nose. Full face masks can work if they’re low profile and tight.

CPAP Mask for Beards

A beard can cause air leakage in a CPAP mask. Usually, the best mask for someone with a big beard would be a CPAP nasal pillow or nasal mask because the beard hair won’t be in the way. If you need help finding a CPAP mask that your beard won’t impede, please contact us!

There isn’t a perfect answer that applies to everyone, so we always encourage people having difficulty finding a comfortable mask to reach out to us or make an appointment. Contact us today – call us at 919-462-8081 or make an appointment!

Get the CPAP Equipment You Need

Not sure what the different types of CPAP machines do? Learn more about CPAP equipment and supplies.

CPAP MACHINES

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines provide consistent air pressure that helps you maintain a constant open airway for breathing.

BiPAP Machines

BiPAP pivots between two levels of applied positive airway pressure with a non-invasive and mechanized pressurize system operating on a time-flow basis.

APAP Machines

Automatic positive airflow pressure (APAP) automatically adjusts to your breathing patterns periodically, versus CPAP which stays at one continuous level of air pressure.

CPAP Masks

Full face masks, nose masks, nasal pillow masks, and more – we help you sort through all the face mask options, with the goal of helping you choose the best match the first time around.

ASV Machines

ASV stands for adaptive servo-ventilation. ASV machines track and adjust air pressure to match your breathing patterns on an automated basis.

I’ve been a patient at Parkway SleepHealth for the past 4 years and my opinion is still the same as it was when I first allowed them to care of my sleep needs. Very professional, organized, outgoing, personable, very approachable, and definitely make you feel as though you are the priority. This was my first choice and my last choice. They are the best!

MELISSA C.

Excellent experience. They are willing to spend time with you on the phone and at the appointment to really go through everything. They checked my insurance to let me know what would be covered before my appointment. In terms of the equipment, they went through it thoroughly and answered all of my questions. Amazing customer service.
